1. HOW ARE BIRD'S NEST FORMED?
Bird’s nests are the nest of swiftlets that are native to Southeast Asia, formed by swiftlets using glutinous secretion from a pair of sublingual glands located beneath its tongue.

2. WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CAVE AND HOUSE NESTS?

Cave nests are harvested from limestone caves and are rarer, often fetching a higher price compared to house nests due to the considerable danger during the harvest.

 

House nests are harvested from man-made houses after the swiftlets inhabit, form its nests and abandon the nests. These are also wild swiftlets and are NOT raised by humans.

The nutritional content similar, though cave nests contain a higher amount of minerals.

3. WHERE IS THE SOURCE OF MING YAN'S BIRD'S NEST?
Our house nests are harvested straight from our own swiftlet houses in Sarawak. Our selection of cave nests are harvested from limestone caves.

 

 

4. HOW SHOULD DRY BIRD'S NEST BE STORED?
Store in cool and dry places in an airtight container or preferably in the refrigerator. When properly stored, dry bird’s nest can be kept for up to 10 years.

 

 

5. WHY DOES DRY BIRD'S NEST CONTAIN FEATHERS?
Our bird’s nest are all traditionally handpicked, free from any chemicals and bleach. Finding some fine feathers and impurities is completely normal.

 

 

6. WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO CONSUME BIRD'S NEST?
In the morning on empty stomach or night time before you sleep for better absorption of nutrients.

 

 

7. WHO IS SUITABLE TO CONSUME BIRD'S NEST?
Apart from people who are allergic to protein, people of all ages are suitable to consume bird’s nest. It is always important to seek a professional’s advice for pregnant women and persons with existing health conditions or allergies when unsure if bird’s nest is suitable.

 

 

8. HOW LONG CAN I STORE FRESHLY COOKED BIRD'S NEST?
As our freshly cooked bird’s nest does not contain any preservatives and stabilisers, we recommend consuming it upon receiving for maximum freshness. Otherwise, keep refrigerated and consume within 14 days.

 

 

9. HOW OFTEN CAN I CONSUME BIRD'S NEST?
House nests can be consumed daily. Nutritionists recommend a daily intake of 2 - 5g, any excess will be excreted by the human body.

 

Cave nests on the other hand should be taken once a week due to the higher mineral content.
 

 

10. HOW MUCH BIRD'S NEST DOES EACH BOTTLE CONTAIN?
Each bottle of 100ml contains 2.5g of bird’s nest.

 

 

11. DELIVERY/SHIPPING
We currently offer free islandwide delivery (except Tuas & Jurong Island) for orders above $100. Otherwise a flat rate of $10 per location is charged to your order. Our delivery timings are between 2 - 6pm. 

Order before 12pm for next day delivery (subjected to availability). Check with our team via Whatsapp for availability of delivery slots.

12. WHY SHOULD I ORDER THE SUBSCRIPTION

Subscription is a fuss-free way to enjoy bird's nest weekly. Delivery trips are on us! Three or six bottles of 100ml bird's nest is delivered weekly for 4 weeks. Pause and resume your subscription anytime, simply drop us a message via Whatsapp.

13. RETURNS
For food safety reasons, we do not allow for any returns or exchange after the orders have been received.
